Peace, Mercy and Blessings of God be upon you in the Holy Land of Palestine

On behalf of the President of the State of Palestine, His Excellency Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, I am honored to join you on the occasion of celebrating the 30^th  years of freedom and democracy.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are proud of our historical relationship with the three countries, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. Your countries were among the very first that have recognized the Independence of State of Palestine as it was announced in 1988. We are grateful for the legal and moral stance for all the countries that recognize our rights in statehood and self-determination.  On this occasion, we urge the remaining states to follow suit and recognize a free and democratic State of Palestine.

Excellencies, Distinguished Delegates

In Dec 2017, The US administration has undertaken extremely aggressive and unlawful measures, declaring Jerusalem as alleged newly recognized capital and moving its embassy there.  Regardless of any such schemes or actions of the US, Israel or any other country, Jerusalem will remain the eternal capital of Palestine.

In this regard, we thank all free and democratic countries and peoples of the world that condemned and rejected the US Administration’s declaration.

Honorable Guests

History has shown that freedom and democracy don’t come easily. In your countries, youth and students have led the change toward freedom and democracy.

In Palestine, we share the same spirit and will for living free in a democratic society. Our society is young, ambitious and resourceful. They are equipped with hope and dynamism. The challenges faced by our young generations are mounting mainly due to the continuation of the Israeli occupation of our land, yet the Palestinians are determined to end the longest occupation in the modern era while building a brighter future for our people.

And, we are obliged to defend our rights in freedom and democracy, while accepting international legitimacy and international law as the framework to resolve our cause, and our hands will remain extended for peace.

Your journey to achieving freedom and democracy inspires us, but alone we can’t easily achieve it without your support.

We take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation to all countries and people that continue to provide support and solidarity to our people and country, politically and economically.

And we continue to look for a deepened partnership and collaboration with your respective countries to realize our rights for independent and sovereign Palestinian State.

We thank you and congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of freedom and democracy.
